  • Amazing Collaboration and Smiles Galore for the Village Fete

    The rain didn’t stop the smiles at the Doulting Village Fete! 🌞 Thank you so much to everyone who came along to support as well as the performers including Owl Class Dancers, The Chapel Dance Studio and the Circus Skills Crew. Also an enormous thank you to the members of The Friends of St Aldhelm's School, the children who ran stalls, St Aldhelm’s Church and the Doulting Social Group.

  • Bugs & Grubs Factfiles

    As part of our collaboration with Eco-Arts Festival Shepton Mallet, Gill Sakakini joined Owls and Falcons classes who have started work on bug fact files. 🐜 We have 60 to complete so are going to work together as a whole school. 🐞 We are really looking forward to finding out about these wonderful insects and also what we can do to make our world a place where these bugs can thrive!  🐛 🦋 🌎 #advocacy #learningtogether #LifeInALLItsFullness #collaboration

  • Weaving in the open air

    Falcons took their learning outdoors creating their own base (warp threads) and selected from a range of coloured wool to weave.  Some children started weaving in natural resources found around school. #learningtogether #collaboration #flourishing

  • Amazing finished Maya Masks

    They are finished and are truly AMAZING! Falcons have demonstrated such perseverance and creativity throughout this mini project.  The way they were able to take a simple material and develop this into a 3D mask has been very impressive.  The layers and thought about colour and shape demonstrate a true understanding of the various mask types there were.  🎨 🤩

    There has been lots of painting going on in Owls and Magpies this week. 🎨 Owls have been exploring colour mixing with primary, secondary and tertiary colours and Magpies have been colour mixing for their African Sunsets. 🌅 🦒

    As a school, we use Facebook to share our exciting learning through social media to our families and wider followers but we do also have a school Twitter X account that we use to engage with other education accounts. This week Falcons have been interacting with author Lindsay Galvin, the author of Darwin’s Dragons, sharing their learning with her and their excitement about the upcoming Wells Festival of Literature visit. 🗣️📝📚 #learningtogether

    We love Falcons' unique and reflective artwork representing their class and the school as a whole. The children have been inspired by one of their class artists, Torres Garcia. It has been lovely to hear about what the children feel are the strengths and important aspects/characteristics of our wonderful school.
