E-Safety Week 2020 - Staying safe and showing kindness online
It has been wonderful to get our new school year off to a great start. Staff and parents have worked together to make sure children have been ready and prepared to return to school and the transition has been smooth.
A Glint of Gold performed by Year 3 and 4.
We were visited by Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra to hear the Double Bass, Oboe and French Horn.
Children from Year 4, 5 and 6 joined together with children from other primary schools in our local area to put on a spectacular performance of Rosie's Adventure - A Shepton Mallet Tale.
NSPCC Talk - Speak out and stay safe.
A big thank you to Sarah from the NSPCC who came into school to share an important message from Buddy. We learnt all about Speak out and Stay safe and who are trusted adults are.
The whole school celebrated World Book Day with a costume parade to show off their outfits of their favourite characters.
Children have been finding out about our Global Value, Fairtrade, this week. From our whole school worship at the start of the week on banana farming in Columbia, children have explored and investigated what Fairtrade is and the communities across the world it supports. For more information, ask your child and visit: https://www.fairtrade.org.uk/
We are delighted to announce that our school will be participating in a new exercise initiative called The Golden Mile. The Golden Mile is a safe, simple and measurable health initiative aiming to inspire and encourage the school community through physical activity with the focus on fun, rewarding personal achievement, raising money and school competition.
Our Golden Mile Team are leading the initiative and began by presenting the idea to the whole school. They will be responsible for uploading individual children's laps onto the portal and sharing running totals with us all.
It was wonderful to welcome so many parents, carers, grandparents and family members to our Learning Showcase on Friday 14th February. This showcase focused on the learning that has taken place throughout each class’s enquiry project for the term.
Children were proud to show their work in books and on display as well as sharing the activities in the classrooms with visiting adults. Thank you for all the great feedback you shared with staff.
